ISO/IEC 17025:2005 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories was updated and released May 15, 2005. The standard is designed for laboratories performing testing and calibration activities. This standard replaces the 1999 edition. It was updated to include all the requirements of ISO 9001:2000. The 1999 technical requirements have not changed.
All ISO standards are available through the International Standardization Organization.
A number of laboratory specific requirements have been added or tightened. Some of the most significant additional requirements in ISO 17025 are described below.

The tools provided in this website apply to this standard. To start your ISO 17025 implementation, follow the implementation suggestions. Evaluate your current system in relationship to this standard, determine what you have in place and what you need to build on. Prepare a plan of attack.
